Botox and Dysport work beneath the skin’s surface to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes fine lines and wrinkles. By relaxing these muscles, the skin above them looks visibly smoother.
BOTOX®/Dysport Post - Treatment Instructions
It is very important that you exercise your treated muscles for at least 1 hour after treatment. (For example, practice frowning, raising your eyebrows or squinting continuously). These exercises work the product into your muscles and will help with desired results.
Do NOT rub or massage the treated area for 24 hours after the treatment and do not have a facial, hot tub, sauna or engage in vigorous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
Try NOT to lie down or spend time crouching or bending over for at least 3 hours after your treatment.
Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours. If you need to apply makeup within 4 hours of your treatment, only use a gentle touch to avoid rubbing the treated area.
We would like to see you for a 2 week follow-up assessment, especially if this was your first treatment. This will ensure that we are able to see how your facial muscles reacted to your treatment. If you require more product, to fine-tune or adjust your treatment results, it will be applied during this appointment, sometimes at an additional cost. For medical reasons, your results will be photographed and documented in your confidential patient file.
Results of your treatment will start in 48 hours, but may take up to 14 days to take full effect.
Neuromodulators are a temporary procedure and at first you may find that your treatment results will last approximately 3-4 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended by your technician, the duration of each treatment may last longer than 4 months.
